The volume of two ideal gases X and Y (having different molecular masses) are the same under identical conditions of temperature and pressure. They would differ in - (A) Translational kinetic energy (B) No. of molecules (C) rate of diffusion (D) Urms

translational kinetic energy = fkT

it will be same for both as it does not depend on molar mass...

number of molecules will be different as molar mass defines size of molecule so for particular

volume number of molecules are different for two dissimilar gases ...

rate of diffusion will be different coz rate is inversly proportional to root of  molar mass...

RMS speed will also differ , RMS speed is inversly related to root of molar mass ...

options B,C,D are correct

RATE OF DIFFUSION BECAUSE RATE IS INDIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO MOLECULAR MASS
