Dipole moment in CH3F is less than CH3Cl as bond length is shorter in CH3F Hence: CH3Cl > CH3F > CH3Br > CH3I .
This is only the major reason.

hello,
Dipole moment in CH3F is less than CH3Cl as bond length is shorter in CH3F Hence: CH3Cl > CH3F > CH3Br > CH3I .
This is only the major reason.

Ch3cl have greater diople moment because dipole moment depends on distance and charge and not just charge alone . Fluorine is more electronegativity than chlorine but the ch3f bond us also shorter than ch3cl . That's why dipole moment of ch3cl greater than ch3f
