Dear Ashwini,
In substitution reaction weak electrophile or neucleophile is replaced by strong electrophile or neucleophile .
During this reaction the sigma bond of weak electrophile or neucleophile breaks and forms a new sigma bond with strong electrophile or electrophile …
Hope this will help you ….
Thanks and Reagrds
