Why is C-I bond polar even though their electro negativity values are the same(2.5)?

Hello Student,

The polarity depends on two things distance of seperation and charge developed due to electronegativitry difference. Since the C-I has large difference in their orbital size it results in large distance and least bond dissociation energy.
