methy cyanide do give ketone on reaction with grignard reagent and hydrolysis.
It first gives a imine and on further hydrolysis it gives ketone.

Methyl Cyanide is the only alkyl cyanide which does not form a ketone . {Reference : Organic Chemistry I.L. Finar – Organo-Metallic Compounds Pg No. 355 }. Please give an appropriate reason !!!
