Aldehydes and ketones having at least one a-hydrogen undergo aldol condensation andAldehydes and ketones having at least one a-hydrogen undergo aldol condensation.

ButBenzophenone is a ketone having no a-hydrogen atom sodo not undergo either aldol condensation or cannizzaro reactions.
