Acidic strength of an acid is determined by how easily a compound can give its H+ ion.

The acidic strength of ortho methoxy benzoic acid is more than benzoic acid because
methoxy group shows – I effect, plus it is present at the ortho position hence effect is maximum as compared to meta or para position.

Methoxy group reduces the electron charge density of oxygen hence, hydrogen holding capacity is reduced thus acidity is increased.
