Acetoacetic ester(CH3COCH2CO2C2H5) is an diactivated compound. It is acidic in nature as this compound contains two acidic-alpha hydrogen atoms,(CH3COCH2) where these two H2 are acidic in nature. The acidity of alpha hydrogen increases because of additional activating carbonyl group.
