Hey Nishtha Gahlot,
the answer is a and b.
As in SN2 reaction the inversion of the reactant takes place (refer notes or lecture video)
so option 1 is correct.
as SN2 reaction is inversely proportional to steric hinderance due to the nucleophilicity is also inversely proportional to steric hinderance so 2alkyl halide will react faster than 30
alkyl halide.
In option 3 , hydrogen substituted alkyl halide is 6.7 (nearly 7 ) times faster than deuterium substituted alkyl halide. It means the inverse of option 3 is true.
In option 4 , pka value of water is 14 and tert-butyl alcohol is 17. It means the water is more acidic than tert-butyl alcohol.
more acidic solution releases hydrogen faster than less acidic solution ,it will reduce the effect of nucleophile in SN2 reaction.
so SN2 reaction is faster in tert-butyl alcohol as solvent than water as a solvent
so option 1 and 2 are correct.
