Due to electronegativity difference it is often considered is non-polar except the case of terminal alkyne. Carbon has 2.5 value of Electronegativity on pauling scale while Hydrogen has 2.1 value but the difference between them is not so greater to make the bond polar that is why the bond is non-polar

Dear student
Hydrogen and carbon have similar electronegativity values, so the C—H bond is not normally considered a polar covalent bond. Thus ethane, ethylene, and acetylene have nonpolar covalent bonds, and the compounds are nonpolar. Bonds between carbon and other elements such as oxygen and nitrogen are polar.
Hope this helps
Good Luck
