When CH3MgBr(methyl magnesium bromide) which is an Grignard reagent reacts with dry ice i.e solid carbon dioxide first an addition pruduct is formed.This addition product when undergo acid hydolysis leads to formation of acid which is acetic acid.The reaction is as follows---CH3MgBr + CO2 ---------> CH3COOMgBr + dil.HCl -------> CH3COOH + Mg(Br)Cl
