Para HydroxyBenzyl carbocation is more stable than Para Methyl Benzyl carbocation since the positive charge on benzyl carbon is more reduced in Hydroxy benzyl carbocation and hence more stable due to more electron donating effect of Para Hydroxy Benzyl carbocation by +M(Mesomeric effect) than that of Para Methyl Benzyl carbocation by +H effect(Hyperconjugation effect)
