Which is more soluble in water :
cis isomer or trans isomer ?
Please explain !

This is a great debate question.I think cos isomers are more soluble in water because the dipole dipole interaction and polarity makes it more soluble in water as compared to the trans isomer in which most of them have weak London dispersion forces. ALSO we know water is a polar solvent based on the principle LIKE DISSOLVES LIKE it is clearly understood that cos isomers are more soluble in water.HOPE IT HELPS.REGARDS ROHIT.
