The reaction between sodium and ethanol
Details of the reaction
If a small piece of sodium is dropped into some ethanol, it reacts steadily to give off bubbles of hydrogen gas and leaves a colourless solution of sodium ethoxide, CH3CH2ONa. Sodium ethoxide is known as an alkoxide.

Hydrogen gas will be involved in this reaction.. we can also text it by taking a match stick to the place from where hydrogen gas is evolved and when we put the matchstick on the gas then it will produce pop sound hence it is prove that hydrogen gas is evolved.
