because  the addition of  HX in unsaturated compounds like alkene and alkyne follows the MARKONIKOV’S rule . i.e most electronegative atom will be added to the unsaturated carbon containing less no,  hydrogen atoms . here the most electronegative among H and X  ,,    is X ,, therfore gem type is always fomed as a major product
