Treatment of alkenes with bromine (Br2) gives vicinal dibromides (1,2-dibromides)
 
hence CH2 = CH2 + Br2 – – – – – →   CH2Br – CH2Br

Since ethene is an alkene so it have double bonds.
Here Be breaks the bonds between ethene.
Chemical equation :--
CH2 = CH2 + Br2 ------->  CH2Br - CH2Br
