First treat 1,2-dibromo ethane with alc. KOH followed by reaction with NaNH2

1,2-dibromoethane ( CH2Br-CH2Br) + alc. KOH ------> CH2=CHBr
CH2=CHBr + NaNH2----------> ethyne
