Wurtz reaction is a reaction in which a haloalkane is reacted with sodium metal in presence of dry ether and it results in formation of an alkane.
But only those alkanes can be formed using this reaction which have even number of carbon atom, So pentane having 5 carbon atoms, can not be formed.
