what is the mechanism behind reduction of alcohol aldehyde ketone by red phosphorus and HI?

i am not able to understand why we are gtting single alkane as product in most of reactions but v get two alkane when we use R-COOR’ as reactant?

Red Phoshorus helps to regenearte/reproduce HI fro I2.
First it converts to PI3 and PI5 then gets hydrolysed and form HI.
Thus I- gets enable to  take part in Elimination reaction.
