What is the formal charge of carbon in cyanide ion and also please explain the answer?

Here, Nitrogen is more electronegative than carbon in cyanide.
Due to this reason negative charge is developed on nitrogen only
not on carbon in cyanide ion
 
Formal charge on c is -1
