Saytzeff’s Rule:
More substituted alkene is formed as a major product, since greater the substitution of double bond greater is the stability of alkene.
Saytzeff came up with this rule due to hyper-conjugation which says more the number of alpha hydrogen, more are the hyper conjugative structures and therefore greater the stability.
In the attachment, its clearly visible tetrasubstituted alkene has 12 alpha H,trisubstituted alkene has 9 alpha H ,disubstituted alkene has 6 alpha H and monosubstituted alkene has 3 alpha H and thus follows stability order.
