Critical angle is a angle of incidence beyond which rays of light passing through a denser medium to the surface of a less dense medium are no longer refracted but totally reflected .
AND DIAMOND HAVE HIGH INDEX OF REFRACTION , so, the critical angle of diamond is only about 25 degree .
incident light therefore strikes many of the internal surface before it strikes one less than 25 degree and emerges .
AND THE BRILLIANCE OF DIAMOND IS DEPEND UPON THE CUTTING PATTERN .
the TIR (TOTAL INTERNAL REFLECTION ) PHENOMENON HAPPENING HERE .
YOUR 2ND QUERY IS NOT CLEAR , KINDLY ASK IT AGAIN IN THE FORUM .
ALL THE BEST ..
