this is used to determine the mw of organic bases.base is converted into salt with hcl which on reqction with ptcl4 forms double salt.B2H2PtCl6.ignition of this salt leaves residue of platinum.
2B--(hcl)---->2B.Hcl---(ptcl4)-->-B2H2PtCl6---heat->-Pt

molecular wt of platinum salt/atomic wt of platinum=wt of platinum salt/wt of platinum
2B+410/195=w1/w2
B=1/2[w1/w2×195 -410]
