Hy vivek.. Ortho effect is an effect caused in benzoic acid and aniline when any group is attached at ortho position... This effect is also known as SIR and SIP.. This effect increases the effectiveness of resonating properties... When ortho effect is observed in ortho (any functional group) benzoic acid it`s acidic character incresases even more than benzoic acid.. Hope U like it
