the substance on whose surface the adsorption takes place is adsorbent. 
the colloid is a heterogenous system in which one substance is dispersed as very fine particle in another substance called dispersion medium.
the process of changing the colloidal particles in a solution into the insoluble precipitate byadding some suitable electrolytes in it is called coagulation
