What happens when resorcinol reacts with NaOH and I2??

It is basically iodoform reaction.

Resorcinol is a dihydroxy benzene.A positive result is the appearance of a very pale yellow precipitate.

whats the mechanism?? doesnt iodoform require a methyl ketone or acetaldehyde??
