 I had a doubt in this question but most probably the answer is
alcohol reacts with chloro form and naoh we get beat aldehyde.

When chloroform reacts with aq. NaOH, the chlorines on CHCl3 are successively replaced by -OH groups from NaOH via. nucleophilic reaction (SN2)
