what happen when
1- 1 3 butadiene treated with bromine in carbon tetrachloride
2-- propene is treated with chlorine at 500 degree c

Bromine water along with CCl4 when treated with alkene both the Br atoms get attached to the Carbon associated with double bond.
Therefore on treating with 1,3 butadiene with Br2/CCl4 we get, 1,2,3,4-tetrachloro-butane.
And when propene is treated with Cl2 at this temperatre, the produt formed is:
1,2-di-chloro-propane.
