ii) It is used in the manufacture of sodium carbonate from caustic soda.
iii) It is used in the purification of sugar and dye stuffs

Calcium oxide (CaO), commonly known as quicklime or burnt lime, is a widely used chemical compound. It is a white, caustic, alkaline, crystalline solid at room temperature.
Quicklime is used to remove acidic acids from a power station chimney and as a way of cleaning silica from a blast furnace etc....
