significant figure u have to multiply , substract . add like the normal simple number , just u need to be carefull about the rounding of digits , 
i am here giving some rules of significant figures 
1- non zero digits are always significant 
2- any zero between the two significant figures are significant . 
3- the final zero on the decimal portion are significant . 
i am taking here an example 
suppose we need to multiply 2.5 * 3.42 
the answer of this problem will be 8.6 but it will be 8.55 
as the significant figure will have to be 2 digits after the decimal .
