Given The safety limit of a crane is known to be 42 tons. The mean weight and the standard deviation of a large number of iron rods are 0.2 ton and 0.5 ton respectively. 20 rods are lifted at a time.
mean=0.2
standard deviation=0.5/sqrt(20)=0.11
So standardized value of sample mean 0.42 is =0.42-0.2/0.11=2
Probability that x>0.42 is are of standard normal curve to the right of ordinate at z=2 which is 0.05
