Dear Rushil
when you number the carbon chain try to number them in such a way to give lower numbers to the branched carbons. If the branches are at identical positions number according to the AIPHABETICAL ORDER. then ethyl group gets the lower number
so its    3-Ethyl-6-methyloctane . only first letter should be capital letter. Dont leave space in between words of a single name
