Let alpha be the degree of dissociation. Now let 2(alpha) moles of PCl5 dissociated and 2(alpha) each of PCl3 and Cl2 are formed .. hence at Eqbm no of moles of PCl5 will be 2-2(alpha) . Writing expression for K we get 2(alpha)×2(alpha)/2-2(alpha)=1.Hence rearranging. We get 2(alpha)² + alpha-1. Solving the quadratic we get alpha=1/2
