Starting from iodomethane , firstly we would perform wurtz reaction to get ethane . 2CH 3 I + 2Na -------> C 2 H 6 2NaI After that wwe would go for elimination reaction from ethane to ethene in the presence of intense heat. C 2 H 6 ---- ------> C 2 H 4 + H 2
