Plz explaim thisActulaly the ans is given 2 but i think that NaNO2 would remove NH2 and put OH in its place and since they both are on diff Carbon atom ketone would not be formed as they are not on same C atom .Plz help

Hi there.. In this ques a primary aliphatic amine is diazotised.. Hence it will form carbocation at the place.. Now I am assuming that you know the concept of ring expansion ..i.e; when a ring is 5 membered and a carbocation is attached to it comes on the ring and ring becomes 6 membered... Now the carbocation will come to C-atom which is attached to OH. Hence after losing H from OH a ketone will be formed... hope you got it... Please approve!!
