Dear Parth

The formula C4H8 stands for 4 structural isomers.
1. Butene-1, CH2=CH-CH2-CH3
2. Butene-2, CH3-CH=CH-CH3
3. 2-Methyl propene, CH3-C(CH3)=CH2
4. Cyclobutane ( 4-membered ring with a CH2 group at each corner).
But butene-2 exists in both cis and trans forms (2 geometrical isomers).

Hello Parth,

The answer to your query is given below :

Since it is an alkene, therefore it will have one degree of unsaturation. Therefore, the following structures can be drawn :

1).  But-1-ene
2).  cis but-2-ene
3).  trans but-2-ene
4).  2-Methylprop-1-ene
5).  cyclobutane
6).  1-Methylcyclopropane

Hope this clears your doubt !
