Chemical reaction of hydrocarbons:
1. Photohalogenaion : R-H + X2 (in presence of light gives) - R-X + H-X

2. Nitration/ Sulphonation of alkane (both are free radical mechanism)

3. Electrophilic addition reaction on alkene

4. Oxidation Reaction of alkene or alkynes

5. Reduction reaction of alkene or alkynes
6.aluminum chloride(AlCl3)catalystto convert unbranched alkanes to their branched-chain isomers.
