CHO group is found in the first and last position of the compound.There are five carbon atoms in the straight chain. So the name of the compound is 1,5-pentanedial

Actually, 1.5-pentanedial is declared as incorrect by IUPAC, the IUPAC name would be – Pentane-1.5-dial.
