Please give the difference b/w phenol,phenyl and benzene.

phenol is benzene with an OH in its top.
now when u take a H atom from metane u call it methyl.
so when u take out a h atom from a benzene molecule it turns into phenyl.
its formula is c6h5. and enzene is c6h6.

phenol is an organic compound with molecular formula c6h5oh , a OH group is directly attached to the benzene ring . phenyl groups refer to a benzene ring present in the form of substitution , 
it has a formula of C6H5 . 
and benzene have a formula of C6H6 ,
