Please correct my concept of the optical actuvity of diastereomers, enantiomers and meso compounds.
Meso compounds are optically inactive while the other two are optically active,right?
Overall meso compounds are achiral although they posses chiral centers...
and what about the presence of chiral centers in an enantiomer and a diastereomers..please help

Dear student...1. Meso compounds are optically inactive, enantiomers are optically active but diastereomers may be optically active or inactive ; 2. Meso compounds posses two or more than two chiral centres so they are chiral compounds but optically inactive compounds (not achiral) due to internal compensation ; 3. Enantiomers posses chiral centres as they are optically active but diastereomers may or may not posses chiral centres because diastereomers may be optically active or may not be....
