(a) TIPS / Formulae:
The bond length decreases in the order.
sp3 - sp3 > sp2 > sp2 > sp – sp
alkane alkene alkyne
On the basis of the size hybrid orbitals, sp orbital should from the shortest and sp3 orbital the longest bond with other atom.
