In lower alcohols vanderwalls is less and hydrophilic group i.e OH group leads..and hydrophobic group is less..leading to liquid state..but in higher alcohols hydrophobic group is more so it leads and OH group lags..leading to solid state

In lower alcohols due to less steric crowding of hydrophobic (alkyl)hydrogen bonding take place and so it is in liquid state. But in higher alcohols high Steric crowding of hydrophobic lead to dominance of vanderwall force due to increase in molecular mass. So it is solid. Thank.☺☺☺☺☺
