Is alkaline KMnO4 the only reagent to oxidize alkyl benzene to benzoic acid?
Can’t we acidified KMnO4 or K2Cr2O7? And why??

No we cant proceed the reaction in acidic conditions because the product formation will not be feasible and yield will be low if you apply extreme conditions to carry out.
