In the oxidative cleavage of methyl propyl ketone, we get Propanoic acid and ethanoic acid. How is this in any ways related to poppof’s rule since both the products have the same group attached to them?

According to poppof’s rule during oxidative cleavage  of unsymmetrical ketone, keto group remains with methyl group(small part) . Ethanoic acid is coming from ketomethyl part and propanoic acid is coming from propyl part .
