Organic chemistry is based on various reactions,and for reactions to remember you need practice.Go step by step first learn all the word roots,suffix,general formulae,and the compounds with their IUPAC names,functional groups.To name an organic compounds remember the IUPAC rules for them and practice them as much as you can.Now for reactions,learn the various types of reactions,how they proceeds.Just observes carefully how an reaction proceed,what is adding and what is removing in various steps.Besides this you should know how an molecule of water or any other thing is adding or get removed.Process like decarboxylation,dehalogenation,.dehydration.dehydrohalogenation should be clear.Make practice of reactions regularly.All such steps help you alot in organic chemistry.
