  1. Learn all reagents (they are around 15–20) such as Con. H2SO4 ( dehydrating agent ) , dil H2SO4 ( Hydrating agent ) , Alc KOH ( Dehydrohalogenating agent ), Oxidiser ( O3 , KMnO4 , K2Cr2O7, CrO3 ) , reducing agents ( Ni/Pd/Pt+H2, NaBH4, LiAlH4, DIBAL-H ) etc. They are helpful in carrying out reactions and conversion.
  2. Make a list of important name reaction such as Sandemeyer, Gatteraman, Kolbe, Reimer Tiemann, Hoffman Bromamide, Williamson Synthesis etc etc and memorise them.
  3. Learn important differentiating test such as Haloform, Hinsberg, Lucas, Carbylamine etc etc
  4. Focus on acidic strength, basicity, stablity of carbocations, electron withdrawing groups, electron releasing groups.
  5. Use reaction map ( from internet) to memorise reactions.
