First of all we have ethyne which have triple bond we have to convert it in double bond so first do its partial reduction by use of catalyst Nickel now we get double bonded compound do its photohalogenation (add cl) as we want to do its wurtz ran now we got halogenayed compound now do its wurtz rxn 2 times hence we get *benzene*

ethyne could be directly converted into benzene in the presence of red hot Cu or Fe. The reaction goes like taking 3 molecules of ethye. Further as the given condition one bond breaks from each molecule to connect to the adjacent one in a circular form like this benzene is obtained directly.
