Hello Dear Student,
Thesehaloalkanesare usually bromo and iodo and less commonly, chloro derivatives.Haloalkaneson heating with alcoholic KOH loses one molecule of hydrogen halide to givealkene. If twoalkenesmay be formed due to dehydrohalogenation of ahaloalkane, the one which is most substituted is the main product.
THANK YOU

Dear student
Halogenoalkanes also undergo elimination reactions in the presence of sodium or potassium hydroxide
CH3CH2CH2CL+ NaOH ------------alkene
