HI

Alpha hydrogen means the H atom(s) linked to C atom next to a functional group.

CH3-CH2--CH2-CH2-OH in this molecule known as Butan-1-ol the 2-H atoms next to OH group coloured as yellow is called alpha H atoms.

The blue H atoms at 2ndposition fron OH is called beta H atoms.

The green H atoms at 3rd position fron OH is called gamma H atoms.

The purple H atoms at 4th position fron OH is called delta H atoms.
