Isobutyraldehyde is the synthetic compound with the equation (CH3)2CHCHO. It is an aldehyde, isomeric with n-butyraldehyde (butanal). Isobutyraldehyde is fabricated, frequently as a side-item, by the hydroformylation of propene. Its smell is portrayed as that of wet grain or straw.
